Discipleship

This passage is often referred to as the great commission, and really consists of three aspects: 1) Missions (Go ye), 2) Discipleship (and teach) and 3) Conversion (baptizing them). All three are important for Christians to fulfill, but in most ministries it is often that middle, in between discipleship component that is the most lacking. We put much thought and effort into seeing people saved, and then often new converts are left on their own to grow in their relationship with Christ.

For those believers with a heart for seeing others grow in the Lord, and personally investing in them 1:1 (or as married couples), we would like to offer a 6 week course (May 16-June 20 @ 5pm (childcare provided)) on Sunday evenings at church to better enable us to come alongside and disciple others and help them to...grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior... (2 Pe 3:18). This is not about a class or curriculum or another venue for Christians to hang out together or something else to add onto an already full calendar; this is about infusing rigor and being deliberate in our preparation and plans to take this command from our Lord seriously and personally by teaching/discipling others!
